Free Fire and BGMI run on cheap Androids. The question is how many compromises you can live with after spending your saved-up taka. In 2026, a Tk 20,000 budget can get you a 120Hz screen and a 6000–7000mAh battery, features that once felt like flagship-money territory.
Keep expectations grounded: under 20k, aim for smooth play at low-to-medium graphics, not max settings. These are spec-based recommendations, not hands-on performance results. A refresh-rate badge is not a frame-rate guarantee.
All prices below are Star Tech listings from September 2026. Check the live listing before paying. My on-paper pick is the Helio 62; the Helio 47 makes sense if you want to spend less without dropping to 4GB RAM.
What actually matters under 20k
- Refresh rate: 120Hz can make menus and swipes feel smoother. Actual gameplay depends on the chip, game settings and supported frame-rate options.
- Chipset: G81-class hardware belongs on a budget shortlist, not a max-settings wishlist. Do not treat an impressive chip suffix as proof of better sustained play.
- RAM: Prefer 6GB over 4GB for more breathing room. Expandable RAM uses storage-swap: it can help with background tasks, but it is not real RAM or a GPU upgrade.
- Battery and charging: Consider mAh alongside watts. A big battery is useful, but 15W or 18W charging calls for patience when you need a quick top up.
- Resolution: HD+ is fine for budget gaming. Fewer pixels mean a lighter GPU load; sharpness is the trade-off.
The main games here are familiar: Garena’s Free Fire is a free-to-play battle royale for Android and iOS. PUBG Mobile is a free-to-play multiplayer battle royale co-developed by LightSpeed Studios and PUBG Corporation. Buy for your daily matches, not a showroom animation.
Five gaming phones under Tk 20,000
| Model | Price (Tk) | Screen | Chip | RAM | Battery |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Helio 24 | 17,499 | 6.67-inch, 120Hz | MediaTek G81 | 4GB | 6000mAh |
| Helio 47 | 17,999 | 6.67-inch, 120Hz | MediaTek G81 | 6GB + 6GB expandable | 6000mAh |
| Realme C100i | 17,999 | 6.8-inch, 120Hz | UniSoc T7250 | 4GB LPDDR4X | 7000mAh |
| Infinix SMART 20 | 18,999 | 6.78-inch; refresh rate not listed | MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate | 4GB LPDDR4X | 5200mAh |
| Helio 62 | 18,999 | 6.78-inch HD+ 120Hz IPS | MediaTek G81 octa-core | 6GB + 6GB expandable | 7000mAh |
Helio 24: keep the bill down
At Tk 17,499, this is the cheapest pick here. You get 128GB storage, a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU and 18W Type-C charging. It suits someone protecting a strict budget. The compromises are 4GB RAM and slow charging; close unnecessary apps before playing rather than expecting effortless multitasking.
Helio 47: the sensible RAM upgrade
For Tk 17,999, the useful upgrade is 6GB of physical RAM, not the expandable-memory headline. Its Mali-G52 MC2 runs at 820MHz, with 128GB storage and 18W charging. Pick it for memory headroom on a tighter budget. Charging remains the weak point, and extra RAM does not transform the G81 into a higher-tier chip.
Realme C100i: battery-first, with patience
The 7000mAh battery and large 120Hz screen are its draw. Inside are a Mali-G57 GPU at 850MHz and 128GB eMMC5.1 storage. This is for buyers prioritising battery capacity, not a proven performance winner. The catches are 4GB RAM and 15W charging: plan your top ups instead of relying on a last-minute charge.
Infinix SMART 20: check the exact variant
Its listing specifies Mali G52 graphics and 64/128GB eMMC storage options. Confirm which storage variant the quoted price buys. With 4GB RAM, a 5200mAh battery and no listed refresh-rate figure, its gaming value is harder to justify against the Helio 62 on paper. Do not assume it has 120Hz.
Helio 62: my on-paper budget king
The Helio 62 listing at Star Tech combines 6GB physical RAM, 128GB storage, 7000mAh and 33W charging for Tk 18,999. That is the most appealing balance here. You also get an IP64 rating. The trade-off is HD+ sharpness, while the G81 and Mali-G52 MC2 still keep gaming ambitions in budget territory.
If you can stretch
- Tecno SPARK 50C, Tk 21,999: 120Hz, Helio G81 and 4GB RAM; not a convincing gaming upgrade on those specs alone.
- Infinix Hot 70, Tk 24,999: Helio G100 Ultimate, Mali-G57 MC2, 6GB RAM and switchable 60/90/120Hz make it worth comparing for the higher chipset tier.
- Tecno SPARK 50 Pro, Tk 24,699: 120Hz, 6nm Helio G100 Ultimate, Mali-G52 MC2, 8GB RAM and 60W wired charging offer clearer reasons to save longer.
Buying tips for Bangladesh
- Use an established retailer with physical shops, such as Star Tech. Compare the live price and exact variant before travelling.
- Check the warranty paper at the counter. Ask who handles repairs and whether the set is an official or grey-market unit. Keep the invoice.
- Avoid suspiciously cheap Facebook Marketplace deals. A bargain is not useful if warranty support is unclear.
- Test the display for dead pixels at the counter. After unboxing a confirmed 120Hz model, verify that 120Hz is selected in settings.
After you buy
Start with manageable graphics and familiar controls. Adjust your Free Fire sensitivity for headshots, or practise a BGMI three-finger claw layout rather than copying settings blindly.
If frame drops still happen, work through our PUBG lag troubleshooting guide. Planning to stream? Follow the Bangladesh budget streaming gear path before spending the rest of your savings on accessories.
Frequently asked questions
Is a 4GB RAM phone enough for Free Fire in 2026?
A 4GB phone can be a workable budget choice for Free Fire, but keep graphics expectations modest and unnecessary background apps closed. Prefer 6GB physical RAM if you can afford it for more breathing room. Expandable RAM uses storage-swap; it does not replace physical RAM or guarantee smoother matches.
60Hz vs 120Hz: does it really matter?
A 120Hz panel can feel smoother during scrolling, menu navigation and swipes than a 60Hz panel. It does not guarantee matching in-game frame rates. The chipset, game support and settings still matter. Choose a balanced phone rather than sacrificing RAM or battery priorities just for the refresh-rate badge.
Are these prices official and will they change?
These are Star Tech’s listed retail prices from September 2026, not a promise of fixed manufacturer pricing or official warranty status for every unit. Prices can change, so check the live listing before paying. Confirm the exact variant and read the warranty paper at the counter rather than assuming coverage.
Helio 62 vs Helio 47: which should I buy?
Choose the Helio 62 at Tk 18,999 if your budget allows: its 7000mAh battery and 33W charging are more attractive than the Helio 47’s 6000mAh and 18W. Both have 6GB physical RAM and 128GB storage. The Helio 47 at Tk 17,999 suits tighter spending; neither promises a higher gaming tier just from expandable RAM.
