The PUBG Mobile 3.9 update was the July 2025 version update, headlined by the Transformers crossover. Its rollout reached players around mid-July 2025, with KR and global first and BGMI in India days later. KR availability was reported earlier, on 7 July.
This is a 2026 patch explainer, not breaking news. According to GosuGamers, 3.9 began Cycle 9 Season 25, which ran until 2 September 2025. Its themed content belonged to that seasonal release; do not assume the same events are available now.

PUBG 3.9 patch notes: main additions
GosuGamers reported the following additions. This table summarises its coverage rather than presenting a complete technical changelog.
| Feature | What 3.9 added |
|---|---|
| Transformers mode | Cybertron Beacons, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Energon and a special duel arena. |
| Neon Outpost | A cyberpunk area on Erangel, Livik and Sanhok. |
| Metro Royale Zombie Uprising | Better progression, hatchable creatures and a tiered monster system. |
| 3D Hub | A multiplayer space for minigames and emotes. |
| Ranked Arena | A limited competitive event with 28 skill tiers and exclusive rewards. |
| World of Wonder | A new Paintgun and an Ice Dragon Boss. |
| Classic Mode weapons | More weapons; the supplied report does not specify their names. |
| Home Mode | The Mancala minigame. |
How the Transformers mode worked
According to GosuGamers, the crossover with Hasbro’s Transformers let players use Cybertron Beacons to summon Optimus Prime or Megatron onto the map. Players could also call in Cybertron Crates containing Energon and other supplies.
The report described the Transformers switching between vehicle form and Autobot or Decepticon form on the fly. Each form had unique abilities. Collecting Energon gave Optimus Prime and Megatron access to their ultimate abilities, making it an important resource within the themed mode.
Optimus Prime versus Megatron
GosuGamers explained that when both Transformers met on the battlefield, they created a special arena and fought a duel. Players could revive Optimus Prime if he was knocked down before that duel. These were specific crossover mechanics, not changes to every ordinary firefight.
At the end of each match, the Transformers dropped unique rewards as they left, per that report. More Transformers-themed items were also planned during the version. That historical announcement does not confirm which items, rewards or events are obtainable in 2026.
Neon Outpost and the other new content
GosuGamers placed Neon Outpost on Erangel, Livik and Sanhok. The cyberpunk-themed area had three zones: a boxing ring, a black market and a burger joint. It was another major part of the update alongside the Transformers crossover.
For Metro Royale, GosuGamers reported new Zombie Uprising content with better player progression, hatchable creatures and a tiered monster system. The report also introduced the 3D Hub as a multiplayer space where players could try minigames and emotes.
World of Wonder received a Paintgun and an Ice Dragon Boss, according to GosuGamers. Classic Mode received more weapons, while Home Mode gained Mancala. The available report does not provide weapon names or balance values, so those should not be guessed from this recap.
Which season did version 3.9 belong to?
According to GosuGamers, the PUBG Mobile 3.9 version began Cycle 9 Season 25, which ran until 2 September 2025. That is the historical season window attached to this update, not a current season announcement.
The same report listed Ranked Arena from 24 July to 2 September, with 28 skill tiers and exclusive rewards. Keep that event schedule separate from the patch rollout: the update’s availability reports came before Ranked Arena’s stated start date.
What Bangladesh and SEA players should know
For Bangladesh players using global PUBG Mobile, follow the global app’s update notices rather than treating a KR or BGMI headline as your own download schedule. BGMI is the India-specific version, as described in the Battlegrounds Mobile India background summary. Indian press coverage confirmed that BGMI received the same 3.9 crossover content later in the rollout.
Keep your installed app updated and check available storage before a large patch. Download size varies by device and whether you update over an existing installation, so a single size claim may not match your phone.

Playing PUBG Mobile 3.9 content in 2026
The 2025 season and listed Ranked Arena window have ended. Themed crossover content like Transformers typically runs for a limited seasonal window. This explainer cannot confirm whether that mode, its rewards or a returning Ranked Arena event is playable today.
PUBG Mobile has kept rolling out new versions since 2025. Check the PUBG Mobile Google Play listing and your in-game lobby for the latest version and modes. Treat 3.9 guides as historical references, not as a way to relive the July 2025 season.
Frequently asked questions
When did the PUBG Mobile 3.9 update come out?
It rolled out in July 2025, with KR and global availability reported before BGMI. Moneycontrol reported KR availability on 7 July, and GosuGamers said the update was available on 10 July. The Economic Times reported BGMI’s release on 15 July 2025.
Is the PUBG Mobile Transformers mode still playable?
The Transformers mode was part of the seasonal 3.9 release described by GosuGamers. Its availability in 2026 is not confirmed here, so check the current in-game mode selection and event notices. An old patch guide does not guarantee that a crossover is still active.
Did BGMI get the PUBG Mobile 3.9 content?
Yes, Indian press coverage reported that BGMI received the same 3.9 Transformers crossover content. The Economic Times reported the update released on 15 July 2025, and Business Standard reported the themed mode live on 16 July. BGMI’s rollout should not be treated as the global or KR release schedule.
Is PUBG Mobile 3.9 still the latest version?
No. Version 3.9 was the July 2025 update, and PUBG Mobile has continued receiving new versions since then. Check the Google Play listing or your in-game lobby for the current version rather than relying on an old patch number.
